Tim May has performed at multiple Tenor Guitar Gatherings, and is always a favorite. Tim calls Nashville home, and has played with an impressive list of performers. He was solo guitarist on Charlie Daniels' 2005 recording of "I'll Fly Away," which was nominated for Best Country Instrumental Grammy. Tim has been a regular on the Grand Ole Opry with Mike Snider for many years. He has performed with Patty Loveless, John Cowan, Eddie Rabbit, and Rodney Dillard of The Darlin's. He was picked by Nashville Scene Reader's Poll as the Best Instrumentalist in 2012. Tim co-authored the eight volume series of "Flatpicking Essentials." In 2017, Tim performed on the stage of the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City. We are honored to induct Tim May in to the 2024 Tenor Guitar Hall of Fame!

Honorary Inductee: Harriot Balmer

Harriott Balmer has been to every TGG but one, with her tenor guitar player husband, Wally. Harriott took over as secretary of the Tenor Guitar Foundation Board in 2016. In 2018, Harriott became the president of the Tenor Guitar Foundation. She started a newsletter, interviewing performers past and present, made a video interviewing locals and vendors around Astoria, built up TGG by lassoing in new volunteers with her charm and enthusiasm, increased numbers on social media, and created the first on-line TGG during the pandemic. Harriott represented the Tenor Guitar Foundation at the Clatsop County Women's Foundation. She introduced the smart looking TGF shirt for sale. For over thirty years, Harriott helped raise scholarship money for college bound student in Tacoma, winning the regional volunteer of the year award for all her hard work. In Harriott's spare time, she quilts, does water aerobics, and visits family and friends in her RV with Wally. She is a true Wonder Woman, and we're honored to induct Harriott Balmer as our Honorary TG Hall of Fame winner!
